The Value Of Wisdom

Ecclesiastes 10:10(NLT)

Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom, it helps you succeed.

James 1:5(NLT)

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God; and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

The value of wisdom – Wisdom does not just look for quick fixes, the bible values wisdom over rubies, because it guides our choices, protects us from harm and hurt, brings us consistent peace.

Wisdom is compared to having a sharpen blade, you would not have to always stress about decisions, or over work yourself trying to accomplish something.

With wisdom our lives are not perfect, but even in adversity we know the adversity will pass, so we try not to make permanent decisions in haste.

Where to find wisdom:

1. God is our main source of wisdom

James 1:5, our main source of wisdom comes from God.

God knows it all, why not go to God, talk to God, listen to God.

2. Wisdom from parents who are wise

Proverbs 6:20(NLT)

My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction.

Unfortunately not all parents are wise, those who are blessed with wise parents should listen to them and lean on their wisdom.

3. Wisdom from friends who are wise Choose your friends wisely.

Proverbs 13:20(NLT)

Walk with the wise and become wise, associate with fools and get in trouble.

Proverbs 27:17(NLT)

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

Whether it is a friend or a family member, if another adult is constantly weighing you down, and uttering horrible advice or opinions, reevaluate your connection.

The value in wisdom:

1. You will make better choices

In most cases if you make a bad choice or decision, wisdom can lead you out or get you pass it. Wisdom can cut through confusion and helps you handle difficult decisions.

2. Help you with friendships and relationships

Wisdom can improve how you listen, help you show more care for others, and get better at conflict resolutions.

Wisdom can help you pick your battles, everything is not worth your energy or attention, most arguments are useless.

3. Help you see the big picture

It can help build steady long term growth instead of always looking for quick fixes.

Wisdom will help bring lasting success.

4. Can give you peace

Proverbs 3:17(NKJV)

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.

Proverbs 3:17 is speaking of wisdom bringing peace. When you make wise choices it gives you peace knowing you have made the right choice.

We don’t always make the right choice or say the right thing, but we shouldn’t always do or say the wrong thing.

If the like of wisdom has cause some negativity in you life, in time wisdom can reverse that.

Seek God, choose your friends wisely, learn from your experiences, good and bad ones, and you will be fine.

Don’t be too hard on yourself but avoid making the same mistakes. There is value in wisdom, lean into it.
