1 Samuel 16:7(NKJV)
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical statue, because i have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart
John 7:24(NKJV)
Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judge.
We should look past surface level assumptions, biases, or outward looks. We should evaluate fairly, not just people but situations.
God does not us to have want harsh, hypocritical, or self righteous condemnation of others, especially where there is no evidence.
We should never just believe things because others believe it. We can just jump to conclusions based on a few people behavior about a particular people group, ethnicity, or origin.
All rich people aren’t evil and all poor people aren’t good, your wealth(or like of it) or ethnicity does not define you.
Dr. Martin Luther King quote:
“I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”.
We tend to judge people by their political parties, but there are good democrats and good Republicans, good white people and good black people, good people of all races and origins.
Generalization – Drawing a sweeping conclusion, using words like always, everybody, never, nobody.
Generalization is not always a bad thing, if done correctly with unbiased research. And the results have been proven.
Generalization can be based on a small sample size or large size to support a claim, both can be inaccurate.
We should never Generalize people of any races, financial, or social demographics, there are good people and bad people everywhere.
I have been told that a particular person is bad and I should not deal with him, but I did and that person turned out to be fine with me.
Groupthink – Groups are fine because being with others of like interest can have its benefits, but not being allow to think differently can be dangerous.
If you can’t voice your opinion then that may not be the group for you.
We all have generalized in our lives, but the key is that we can evolve, when we learn different we can think and move different.
That’s what I love about the gospel of Christ, it’s reach is to everyone, poor, rich, every race, every class, the good, the bad, God loves everyone.
John 3:16(NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
If we love God, we can’t pick and choose who we love.
Let’s not let the media/social media cause us to Generalize or come to a conclusions about anyone or anything, we should pray to God and do our on research.
