1 Kings 18:41(KJV)
And Elijah said unto Ahab, get up, eat and drink; for i hear the sound of abundance of rain.
It had not rained in 3 years and 6 months, hope had been lost, but Elijah never gave up, a miracle was needed.
Sound of Hope – Despite the absence of any visible sign that something will change, we keep working, keep praying, keep believing that things will change.
If all we listen to is defeat, gloom and doom, that is what the sound will be in our spirit, faith comes by hearing, regardless of how things are, we have hope.
The bible says that we walk by faith and not by sight, faith and hope is not the absence of reality, but trust in God.
With all that is going on in the world we can lose hope, especially when we constantly hear bad news, but we must remain faithful and persistent in prayer.
Hope has a sound, when storm is about to come there is a sound, lightning, thunder, and sound of wind.
God gave us senses and instincts for a reason, so we can anticipate and prepare.
Anticipate – to foresee in advance, to give advance thought discussion or treatment.
Prepare – To make ready beforehand for some purpose use or activities, to work out the details.
Sometimes life catches us off guard, bad things can happen without advance notice, great things can happen without advance notice, but a lot of times God gives us for advance warning, I hear the sound of Hope, a lot of people are saying gloom and doom for this country and this world.
I hear things progressing, things getting better for the disenfranchised, the disadvantage, the abandoned and the overlooked, so I’m encouraged.
We have to do our part, vote, get involved in our communities, and most importantly pray.
Jesus came to give us hope, I hear that sound ringing in my ears. How can we give up hope when God, Jesus and Holy Spirit is on our side.
We need to be aware of what’s is going on in the world, but still trust God and continue to believe.
Listen to the “Sound Of Hope”, anticipate and prepare, great things are happening and greater things are coming, God is not done yet.
Until this life is over we must believe things can get better for ourselves and others, continue to trust and believe, continue to do the best we can do.
God is speaking, God’s ultimate sound is always a “Sound Of Hope”.
Amen π
