Placing The Blame

John 9:1-3(ERV)

V. 1 While Jesus was walking, he saw a man who had been blind since the time he was born.

V. 2 Jesus followers asked Him, “Teacher why was this man born blind? Whose sin made it happen? Was it his own or that of his parents?”

V. 3 Jesus answered, it was not any sin of this man or his parents that caused him to be blind. He was born blind so that he could be used to show what great things God can do.

Placing The Blame – Assigning fault, guilt, or responsibility for something that happened to an individual or people group.

During Jesus time they believe that major physical disabilities and illnesses were the results of personal or ancestral sin.

But even if something is the result of someone else, it is still an opportunity for God to intervene, sometimes by using us as humans.

Placing The Blame is often a legitimate thing, somethings are other people fault, somethings are our own fault.

If someone does a crime they should pay the legal consequences.

But often in life things happen that may not be criminal, they may be unethical and immoral but maybe not criminal.

The Blame may be deserved but we can continue to place Blame or do our part to change the situation.

In the political landscape of the United States we can spend more time Placing The Blame instead of making the change.

Many of us have been in situations that was not our fault, we know people that are in situations that are not their fault.

Every problem is an opportunity for a solution, every adversity is an opportunity for a miracle, troubles may be opportunity for us to be used by God.

There is Blame to go around for the many problems we have in the United States and the world.

We can make a change by voting our conscience, by volunteering in our church, community charities, or by using our voice.

God can still do miracles like was done with the man born blind, God also uses us.

Instead of just Placing The Blame, we can be that change.
