More Joy

Psalm 45:7(ERV)

You love what is right and hate what is wrong. So God your God, chose you to be King, giving you more joy and honor than anyone like you.

Hebrews 1:9(ERV)

You love what is right and hate what is wrong. So God your God has chosen you, giving you more honor and joy than anyone like you.

In above verses, more joy is connected to loving what is right and hating what is wrong.

King James Version of the bible uses the word Righteousness in above verses, which in those verses has to do with justice and equity, more of a legal and moral term.

Speaks of how the Messiah would treat others, which showed in his life.

Jesus is pictured many times just weeping over Jerusalem and being a sad man, Jesus had extreme joy, which is what gladness is.

People that try to control others people lives and hate fairness for others, always seem upset and mad about something.

Those who are always trying to take away the rights of others always seem angry.

We should get upset about oppression and the injustices in the world, but still find joy in knowing God and trusting God.

That is why we should not constantly be around people who are always angry about something and are a magnet for bad news.

There is a lot of bad things and bad people in the world but there are also a lot of good things and good people in the world.

Proverbs 22:24-25(ERV)

V. 24 Don’t be friends with people who become angry easily. Don’t stay around quick tempered people.

V. 25 If you do you may learn to be like them. Then you will have the same problems they do.

We can get angry but don’t live in it, sometimes you have to turn the news off and turn certain people off.

If the things you look at and listen to never is encouraging or uplifting you may want to step away, at least for a while.

We say we want to live like Jesus did, then we need to love what is right and hate what is wrong.

More joy is what we need, so we can be strong and continue to make a difference in other people’s lives.

Nehemiah 8:10(ERV)

Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy the good food and sweet drinks. Give some food and drinks to those who didn’t prepare any food. Today is a special day to our LORD. Don’t be sad because the joy of the LORD will make you strong.”
