Happiness

Proverbs 17:22(ERV)

Happiness is good medicine, but sorry is a disease.

There is so much going on in the world that it can rob us of our happiness.

We should mourn, hurt, and have empathy and sympathy for others.

Not to the point where it destroys our on wellness being.

So we change the things we can, help where we can and pray about the rest.

Even Jesus was anointed with the oil of gladness above his companions, it says it twice in the bible.

Psalm 45:7, Hebrews 1:9, Jesus was not a man just weeping all the time. Jesus had joy in his life also.

This world can make you feel bad for being happy, you can be called a Pollyanna, but be whom you are, if you’re a happy person be happy

Happiness – The state of being happy

Happy – Feeling of joy, pleasure, or contentment.

I’ve heard many times that happiness depends on your happening; but that’s not the actual definition.

Joy is not more important than happiness, but that’s just a theological or spiritual play on words.

As a Christian, I still have to make a conscious choice to be happy or have joy, so they both can be the same.

Even though our joy or happiness comes from knowing God, we are not always happy.

So just saying happiness depends on your happiness sounds good, but that’s not the actual definition.

Now positive happening can give you happiness at that time, but many times that is temporary.

Just like negative happening can give us temporary sadness.

Happiness comes with a conscious choice to be happy.

It is a mindset. Happiness can come from habits and practices that bring happiness or support happiness.

Benefits of Happiness:

1. Promotes positivity

It can enhance your mood or attitude and allows you to take a positive approach to your problems.

2. Help with stress and anxiety Worry can be a major cause of stress and anxiety.

Simply stopping worrying can increase your happiness.

It’s not easy, but we can do better with meditation, affirmations, help from family and friends.

3. Helps you focus on the now.

Not worrying about the past or fretting about the future, focusing on the here and now can help with contentment.

4. Has health benefits

Happy people cope with stress and trauma better, and research has suggested that stress and anxiety have a negative effect on cardiac effects.

What happiness doesn’t mean:

1. It does not mean that we do not acknowledge your problems.

But we see our problems as opportunities to grow and learn from adversity and our mistakes.

2. Happiness doesn’t not mean we never worry.

Moderate worrying can cause us to make decisions. Moderate worrying can cause us to change our physical lives and take care of our physical bodies better. Do things to enhance our financial situation, with more education or skills to help our money-making capacity.

Moderate worrying can cause us to take care of our mental/emotional state, whether to seek help from a therapist, counselor, or whatever works for us. More important it can cause us to take our spiritual lives due more praying and meditation.

God should be our main source when seeking help, but God also put other people here to help us.

4. Happiness doesn’t mean we never make plans

Benjamin Franklin quote:

“If you fail to plan, you’re planning to fail”

Winston Churchill similar quote:

“He who fails to plan is planning to fail”

Now, it is not just in the planning but in the doing.

Being a happy person does not mean that we neglect our own personal responsibilities, but the main reason we are happy is because we did our part.

Happiness, joy, and contentment means different things to different people.

So whatever that means to each of us, let’s find that place, we know the spiritual, mental, emotional, and financial benefits of being in that place/space.

Life will never be perfect, we all have our moments of stress, anxiety, depression.

I pray that stress, anxiety, and depression only be moments for us and not where we spend most of our time.

Happiness, what a wonderful place to be.
