Wanting The Best For Ourselves

2 Chronicles 4:10(ERV)

Jabez prayed to the God of Israel and said, “I pray that you would bless me and give me more land! Be near me, and don’t let anyone harm me! Then I will not have pain. ” God gave Jabez what he asked for.

Mark 11:24(ERV)

So I tell you to ask for what you want in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours.

The story of Jabez is testament to it doesn’t matter where you came from or what conditions you were born in, it doesn’t even matter where you are now.

Some are in bad situations, whether it is because of others or of our own doing, keep hoping and praying for better.

Things can change for you.

Jabez – Name Meaning – Sorrow, sorrowful, or born in pain.

Jabez prayed for:

2. God’s power

3. God’s provision

4. God’s protection

5. God’s passion

Jabez wanted honor. Some may think that it is a selfish thing to ask for but granted him his request.

So often we are told to love, pray for, and hope for the best for others, which we should. But we really can’t love others unless we truly love ourselves.

Matthew 22:39

Love your neighbor as yourself. If we don’t love ourselves how can you truly love our neighbors or anyone.

How can we truly want the best for others when we don’t want the best for ourselves.

So, wanting self success or prosperity is not selfish. Praying for your best is not selfish.

I realized that in life, the more I love myself the more I love others.

The more i want the best for myself, the more I want the best for others.

This life is a heart thing. Whether we are broke or have prosperity, God knows our hearts.

So continue to pray and believe for the success of others but don’t forget about yourself.

John 10:10

Jesus came that you may have life, abundant life.

So whatever you desire or want, of course we must do our human part in working for it, but don’t be ashamed to ask God for your hearts desire.
