Nothing to lose, everything to gain

2 Kings 7:3-4a(NLT)

V. 3 Now, there were four men with leprosy sitting at the entrance of the city gates. “Why should we sit here waiting to die?” they ask each other.

V. 4 “We will starve if we stay here, but with the famine in the city, we will starve in we go back there.

The bible is a fascinating book about ordinary people beating or overcoming horrible odds, about people with disabilities and shortcomings doing courageous things.

Reading the whole story, 2 Kings 7:3-10, these Leprosy men not only saved themselves but a whole city.

We being courageous can help others and encourage them to be courageous also.

Sometimes, in life, we get to a crossroads.

Crossroad – Crucial point in life where a decision must be made.

1. We can decide to stay where we are.

Staying where we are is not just a physical place but also it can be an attitude or state of mind, like having a defeated mindset, low self-esteem or self-worth, no confidence.

We have to decide to want better for ourselves, we have to decide to do better.

If that means getting some kind of therapy or counseling, getting more involved in your community church or social group to get help, but must want better for yourself.

If where you are is a health and fitness problem, go to the doctor but also decide you are tired and start doing things on your own.

Begin to eat healthier and exercise if you have to find a fitness coach to help.

Stay where you are should not believe an option, especially if it is a bad place or a defeated place.

Deuteronomy 1:6

You have stayed here long enough.

Just like God told them back then, you have to tell yourself that.

2. We can decide to go back:

Voluntarily going back to a place of famine should not be an option for you.

Especially if that place was a relationship that included abuse or mistreatment of kind, you are more valuable than that, or a job or career that you hated.

Jesus, God wants you to live an abundant life, we will always have issues come up, but we should never have to settle.

Never let this life get you so down that we want to give up and go back to that place that you worked so hard to come out of.

If you’ve worked so hard to get in a good place financially, never settle for going back.

If you’ve worked so hard to get in a good place spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, don’t settle for going back.

If you’ve worked so hard physically, eating right, exercising, to get in a good place never settle for going back.

Keep moving forward, if you fall, take a break but don’t give up or go back.

3. We can decide to move forward:

Moving forward is not a guarantee that things will work out, but at least you give yourself a chance.

And when God is with you your chances are very high of succeeding, especially if you put the work in and never give up.

As a matter of fact, your chances of being successful are guaranteed, it make take time but don’t give up.

As you move forward, people are watching you, they know where you are, and they know how far you have come.

Nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

Keep moving forward.
