Jeremiah 1:11-12(ERV)
V. 11 The LORD’S message came to me: “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I answered, “I see a stick made from almond tree wood.”
V. 12 The LORD said to me, “You have seen very well, and I am watching to make sure that my message to you come true.”
What Do You See? – We are living in a world where there is so much bad, it can be hard to see any good.
Where news is almost always bad or pessimistic, having optimism can be tough, especially when many people are pessimistic.
Democrats oppose Republicans, Republicans oppose Democrats, Christians oppose non Christians, and it can turn into hate.
So much seemingly racial and economic differences, so much bad to see.
Jeremiah was in the infancy of his calling, he needed encouragement.
God showed him the Almond stick, the Almond tree was known as the waking tree, it is the first to blossom in the spring.
God was showing Jeremiah that he was actively watching over his word to perform it.
So even in times of difficulty, frustration in our lives we can be sure that God will do what he promised.
It is not denying the bad, but it is about focusing on the good.
We must do our part in opposing the bad, whether it is getting involved or speaking out.
But when the bad keeps us from advancing in life we need to change our focus.
Sometimes we have to be intentional about seeing the see, if the media or social media constantly is getting you down or angry you may want to change your focus.
If certainly people in your life only show you the bad, you may want to created more boundaries.
God plans for you have not changed because the country and the world has more challenges.
