United(Together) We Stand?

Genesis 11:6-7(ERV)

V. 6 The LORD said, “These people all speak the same language. And i see that they are joined together to do this work. This is only the beginning of what they can do. Soon they will be able to do anything they want.

V. 7 Let’s go down and confuse their language. Then they will not understand each other.”

The phrase United We Stand, or Together We Stand is not in the bible.

The concept comes from Matthew 12:25, Kingdom divided against itself will be ruin.

United or unity has a lot of positive and powerful possibilities, especially in our personal relationships and friendships.

Sometimes unity or being united can turn into uniformity, which leaves no room for individuality or personal expression.

Some groups united are not looking out for everyone, just the ones part of that group. True unity is embracing Diversity in race, culture, religion etc.

It doesn’t mean we have to agree with everything but try to be understanding of different cultures.

Everything united or together will not stand, especially if it only is for that group.

There is power in togetherness, so much that God had to come down and confuse the people, because they were united in rebellion and pride.

God wanted to fill the earth, so he created language barriers so people can be different and not understand each other.

God is for Unity but God is for Diversity also, it’s a pattern.

Acts 8:4(ERV)

They were scattered everywhere, and in every place they went, they told people the Good News.

Jesus command was for the church to preach in Jerusalem, to all Judaea and Samaria, and to all the earth.

At the time they had stayed in Jerusalem, persecution is what scattered them.

God wants the universal church to all have the same purpose but different missions.

Purpose of spreading good news, and helping others.

We can still be United and different, that was the whole concept of the United States.

Diversity in the United States refers to the wide range of demographic, culture, and social differences among us.

Race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, abilities and financial status.

Seems like some people hate that we are a melting pot or Salad bowl of Diversity, we can not eliminate critical thinking, opposing views and have unity with diversity.

Not just the United States but the world, we all should be understanding of each other.

We need to be unified in our fight against oppression and injustice.

We all don’t have to agree but we should be respectful and understanding when needed.

United(Together) We Stand, can be a positive and powerful thing.
