Psalm 37:25(NIV)
I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
Psalm 37 written by King David, at an old age as a reflection and encouragement, testifying that despite his long life, which came with challenges, he never witnessed righteous people forsaken by God.
King David also wrote he never seen their children begging for bread.
Righteous – Righteous in this verse has more to do with justice, legally and morally.
Righteous doesn’t mean perfect but we are always striving to do better.
Righteous is being devoted to God, trusting God, doing what is right, and treating other people right.
Psalm 37 King David is giving encouragement because of how the wicked seem to be prosperous and the righteous were suffering.
King David was encouraging the righteous to continue to do what was right, despite life’s challenges and that God would never forsake them or us today.
With so many challenges in this life, King David encourages us to not give up on God and his righteous judgments.
Psalm 37:4-5(NIV)
V. 4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
V. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him and he will do this.
As we continue to take delight in the LORD and delight in doing what’s right, believing that we are Never Forsaken.
Never Forsaken – Speaks of God’s unwavering presence, promise, protection, and provision.
