1 Chronicles 4:10(ERV)
Jabez prayed to the God of Israel and said, I pray that you would bless me and give me land. Be near me and don’t let anyone hurt me! Then I will not have any pain”. God gave Jabez what he asked for.
Hebrews 11:13(ERV)
All these great people continued living with fairh until they died. They did not get the things God promised his people. But they were happy to see those promises coming far in the future. They accepted the fact that they were like visitors and strangers on earth.
The life of Jabez is a life many can relate to, everyone was not born in ideal circumstances.
Jabez name means pain, sorrow distress, but he never gave up.
Jabez did not only ask God for expansion, but also for favor and protection.
Jabez prayed and asked God for better, and God granted him his request.
Jabez was an honorable person to Gid as well as to others, in spite of challenges he honored God.
Jabez never settled for the life he had, he wanted better, God blessed him.
Maybe Jabez’s family had settled for long and he wanted better.
We can be thankful for where we are in life but also strive to be and do better.
Hebrews 11 talks about many who died believing for what God has promised them on earth, but never received it here on earth.
But they died believing they would, knowing this life on earth is temporary.
So keep praying and believing for things to get better, never settled for less on this earth.
You can be content and thankful for what you have, but you don’t have to be complacent, complacent is never wanting better for yourself or never try to improve.
Content is more of an inner peace not based on material things.
But in this life you need money and things to live a better life and help others while here on earth.
Better not just materially but becoming a better overall person, becoming an honorable person.
So while we are here on earth, we should “Keep Praying and believing For Better”.
