Follow God, Follow Christ

Psalm 63:8(KJV)

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

1 Corinthians 11:1(KJV)

Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Follow God – Seek after him

Follow Christ – Imitate him

God as a person was never on earth, God worked through humans or angels.

Jesus lived here, we must do our best to do the things he did.

To love people like Christ did, to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves.

.Jesus was full of love, compassion, mercy, anger for those who took advantage of others.

Follow God

Psalm 63:8

Follow – Means to long for, seek after, cling to, seek after with your whole heart.

In a world where so many of us are looking for followers and looking for something or someone to follow,

The Psalmist followed hard after God.

David cling to God, persued God with his whole heart.

David knew that in this life God is there only one that can uphold us up through life’s successes and life’s failure, through life’s victories and life’s defeat.

David had such a thirst for God, even though he dealt with his own failures and defeats.

The same God that gave David the victory also kept him in his personal failures and defeats.

Follow Christ

1 Corinthians 11:1

Follow – Means to imitate, mimic, be like, do as.

There used to be a popular acronym, WWJD, what would Jesus do.

Paul says imitate me as I imitate Christ, if I cease imitating Christ, stop imitating me.

So in a world where value is earned by followers, where some actually make money by followers, neither of those are bad things.

Let’s be followers of God, and followers of Christ.

When things get tough our followers or the people we follow can only do so much to help us, but God can uphold us.

We admire many of the people that we follow and we may desire some of their qualities, but the one we should desire to imitate the most is Christ.

Follow God, Follow Christ.
