Exodus 4:1-2(NLT)
V. 1
But Moses protested again, “What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say, The LORD never appeared to you?”
V. 2
Then the LORD asked him, “What is that in your hand?”
“A Shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied.
If God doesn’t doubt us then we should not care who else does, if God believes in us then it should not matter if some other folks do not.
Now hopefully others do, but how others feel should not make us or break us, Moses dilemma was wondering if others would believe in him.
But I’ve notice in this life that there will always be someone who believes in you, but it starts believing in ourselves.
God have given Moses an assignment, to lead the people out of slavery of the Egyptians.
Moses was reluctant, Moses thought no one would listen to him.
Moses could not communicate well, he thought he was not qualified.
But Moses was a Shepherd for his father-in-law Jethro for 40 years and had mastered the craft of being a Shepherd.
The same Staff that Moses had use for 40 years was the staff he would use to lead the people out if bondage.
Moses was in training, he did not realize all the things he was doing was getting him prepared for his ultimate assignment, to lead the people out of bondage.
Like today, some of us have gain so much knowledge and wisdom in our lives but at times we can still feel unqualified, unworthy, unpopular.
Even though we have had the training and skills, we can question ourselves.
There is a saying “That God doesn’t call the qualified, but God qualifies the called”.
There is some truth to that but Moses was called and qualified, but still reluctant.
God will not let our talents and skills be wasted, if we surrender to him.
All the things that we have been through and all the skills that we have attained in this life ,God has put in our hands to make a different.
Never doubt who you are, what you have or what you are capable of.
Matthew 25:15(NLT)
An to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability, and immediately he went on a journey.
Many of us have talents, skills, abilities.
Some came naturally but some we have learned, studied and worked hard to attain.
Sometimes we just have to sit down and do an assessment of our own lives, to realize what we have, tangible and intangible talents.
We may realize that we have much more than we may think.
Some skills and talents may be to earn income and so may be just to bless others, some may be both, but most of us have something or somethings.
God is asking today, “What’s In Your Hand?”
Your answer to God may even surprise yourself.
Once we believe in ourselves like God believes in us, we would be unstoppable, we were created in God’s image and likeness.
Yes you can
