Keep Looking Forward

Philippians 3:13(NLT)

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.

Keep Looking Forward – Focusing what is in the future and the possibilities of great things ahead of us, rather than dwelling on the past.

Learning from our mistakes, failures, regrets.

Try hard to let go of all our hurts and pain from other people and the things we caused ourselves.

It’s hard to keep looking forward when we’re always looking backwards.

Somethings we may never totally forget, but that should be our goal.

Not just the bad things, but sometimes good things and good times can keep us in the past.

That phrase, “Back in the day,” can be great for reflection. But to grow, we should focus on what’s ahead.

To Keep Looking Forward we must:

1. Learn from our past, our past can either be a blessing or lesson, both are part of our growth and moving forward.

2. Releasing negativity

We all have regrets, decisions, and things that have happened to us. Releasing negativity is a process, but if fully embraced it can be liberating.

3. Living in the present

We should embrace the positive possibilities in the future rather than dwelling on our past failures. As long as we are making progress, no matter how small it may seem, we should rejoice.

4. Focus on growing

Whether it’s relationship, financial, health, and fitness, mentally, we showed focus on growing and doing the things we need to do to grow and  keep looking forward.

The rear view mirror analogy:

It is necessary to occasionally look back to learn from the past.

Dwelling on the past can prevent us from moving forward.

The windshield is large, and the rear view mirror is small, the future is more important than your past.

Jeremiah 29:12(ERV)

I say this because I know the plans that I have for you, This message is from the LORD. I have good plans for you. I don’t plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future.

Keep Looking Forward
