Proverbs 10:22(ERV)
It is the LORD’s blessing that brings wealth, and no hard work can add to it.
Proverbs 14:23(ERV)
If you work hard, you will have plenty. If you do nothing but talk, you will not have enough.
God’s Blessing and hard work, an awesome combination.
The above verses can seem like contradictions.
Hard work with the blessing of God may take longer than we want sometimes, but it always ends well.
God’s blessing without hard work can be great at first, but without hard work, we may lose our blessing, material blessing that is.
All God things come from God, every good and perfect gift, sustained blessing come to those who acknowledge that and work hard to keep it .
A blessed life does come with troubles because that’s the world we live in.
Even a blessed life is not without troubles.
Proverbs 10:22 focuses on the life that has received God’s blessings, which prosperity without so much negative side effects, like stress and guilt.
Proverbs 10:22 Is about the blessing, about receiving the blessing from God on our lives.
Proverbs 14:23 Is more about the principle of hard work and diligence.
How do the verses work together:
Hard work put us in positions to receive continued blessing from God.
With God’s blessing come responsibility and hard work.
Work can bring sorrow when we are totally depending on human effort and not on God.
James 2:26b
Faith without works is dead.
That principle of faith without works can be applied to every area of our lives.
If we say that we are believers but never do anything to help others or do not live others, that is not of God.
We may need a job and pray to God for it, but if we never look for that job or get the skills to qualify for that job, we may never get it.
God is awesome and wants to bless us, but we must position ourselves to receive his blessing and do our part.
But it can get hard and tiring sometimes, but we must hang in there.
Galatians 6:9(NLT)
So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Keep on working, keep on believing, keep on expecting.
