So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?
1 Kings 3:12-13(GNT)
V. 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again.
V. 13 I will also give you what you have not asked for: all your life, you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king.
Wisdom(dictionary) – The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment, the quality of being wise.
Wisdom(Bible Definition) – The ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on a deep understanding of God’s will and the world around.
Why Wisdom?
Out of all the things Solomon could have asked for, he asked for wisdom.
We can avoid so much unnecessary trouble in this life if we rely on the wisdom from above.
Solomon knew for him to take in the task and mission ahead of him he needed wisdom more than anything.
Now, there is a wisdom that can comes through life’s challenges and struggles, we can obtain a certain amount of wisdom just by living in this world.
But there is a divine wisdom that we can obtain from God, which comes from believing in him and surrendering our lives to him.
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Wisdom starts with having a fear or reverence for God and his will.
James 1:5(GNT)
But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.
God does not hold back on Wisdom, He is very generous because he wants us to make sound decisions.
Even if we make a bad decision, we have the wisdom and understanding to get back on track.
Wisdom will not eliminate problems, but when problems arise, we realize that God is with us.
Why Wisdom?
Wisdom allows us to learn from our experiences and make better decisions.
Wisdom will help enhance our relationships and friendships, so we can live a more fulfilling life.
Wisdom can help us take better care of our spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and also our financial health.
Wisdom helps us prioritize our lives, helps us to understand what is most important.

Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do.
