Blessings of Being Different

Numbers 14:24(ERV)

But my servant Caleb was different. He follows me completely. So I will bring him into the land thar he has already seen and his people will get that land.

Numbers 14:24(NLT) But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He remains loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land.

Different – Another attitude, other, a different attitude than some other people, we can attitude.

Caleb was among 12 spies who went to spy out the promised land, Caleb seen the Giants just like the other spies.

They all came back and said that there were large grapes in the land and the land was very fruitful.

But 10 of them besides Caleb and Joshua said they could not possess the land because of the giants.

They actually said we are not able to possess the land that God had actually given.

They looked at themselves as lees than and thought then giants looked at them that way also, if we don’t believe in ourselves, we should not expect others to believe in us.

Caleb knew who he was, and he knew who God was, so if God had given them land nothing or no one could stop them.

Some challenges of being different:

1. Dealing with negative and pessimistic people. Someone once said some people have a problem with every solution.

We all have issues and get down. We may complain at times, but we get up and keep going.

2. Dealing with the victim mentality.

We know that there are real victims in this world due to many reasons, racism, injustices, prejudices, and victims of crimes.

Victim mentality – Often blaming others for the misfortunes of life and feeling powerless.

Blaming everyone else for our failures except the person in the mirror, ourselves, no one can stop us but us, ultimately, taking personal responsivity.

3. Dealing with the impossible mindset.

Nothing may seem possible until it’s done.

4. Same people refuse to change.

Sometimes, as much as you may try to encourage or teach people, they refuse to change.

And that can be a challenge because we want to see people doing better.

But the blessings of being different certainly outweigh the challenges.

Blessings of being different:

1. A life of positivity and optimism.

Positive people acknowledge the problems or issues of being successful, but they keep going. Caleb seen the Giants in the promised land like the rest of the spies.

But Caleb focused on the promises rather than the problems.

2. A healthier life, physically and mentally.

It has been proven that positive, optimistic people are healthier, especially mentally. Doubt, stress, and anxiety can cause so many health issues.

3. Are good to be around.

Positive people make life enjoyable, again that acknowledge issues and concerns but try to stay focus on their mission.

4. Love lifting others up.

Positive people love seeing others do good, they love encouraging people and challenging them to do better.

5. Believe that they can accomplish anything. Impossible becomes I’m possible, positive people are willing to work hard because of the end results.

So, being different has its challenges, being positive has its challenges.

People may call you a pollyanna or over positive person. They may think you don’t care enough.

Some people think you are supposed to doubt and be sad all the time.

But the “Blessings of Being Different” outweigh the challenges.

Keep being you, keep being different, keep impacting your world.

Remember, God doesn’t bless you based on your ethnicity or economic background.

You may have challenges but be different, be determined to succeed.

Peace
