Who Is My Neighbor

Proverbs 3:27-28(NLT)

V. 27 Do not withold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them.

V. 28 If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you”.

Luke 10:29(NLT)

The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And Who is my neighbor”.

Neighbor – A person near, next door neighbor, a friend, any other person, or any person regardless of religion or race.

If all of us as individuals or nations were more Neighborly, the world would be a better place.

We actually would not need the government as much in times of need, if we would look out for each other.

Hubert Humphrey quote:

“The impersonal hand of government can never replace the helping hand of a neighbor.”

I’m not referring to disasters, natural or man made, we pay taxes to get extra help for those times, although we still should volunteer our help when needed.

I’m talking about everyday needs and support.

The rich young ruler asked Jesus.

Who is my neighbor?

God created us to need each other.

Some of us are introverts, but that comes a time when everyone needs some help and support.

We all may not be able to give a lot of financial support to give but we can give what you have.

If we can help financially we groceries or whatever than is fine, or at least know some places they can get help in the community.

Other ways we can help:

1. Encouragement

2. Sound advice

3. Emotionally support

4. Spiritual support

5. A listening ear

6. Pray

Physically things we can do:

1. Ask to cut our neighbors yard

2. Ask to wash their car

3. Ask to wah their driveway

4. Ask to put out their trash for pickup

5. Help carry in groceries

6. Help move around furniture

Mother Teresa Quote:

“Helping hands are better than praying lips.”

We should pray for our neighbors, but not pray for the things that we can do ourselves.

All of us are important, we all have gifts to give and we all have neighbors.

So let’s make it a point to do something good for someone this week.

Especially if we have elderly or disabled neighbors that we know.

Who is My Neighbor?

Anyone who is near us who may need help, or just need a friend.

Mother Teresa quote:

“I want you to be concerned about your next-door neighbor. Do you know your next-door neighbor”

Let’s be good neighbors.
