Proverbs 6:6(KJV)
Go to the ant, though sluggard; consider her way, and be wise.
Proverbs 30:25(KJV)
The ants are people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer.
Proverbs 6:6-9 is the whole parable of the ant.
The bible has many times referred to humans as things in nature.
We have been referred to as fish, clay, sheep, salt, water etc. in the bible.
But one of the most interesting thing are the ants, and the lessons we can learn from them.
Lessons From the Ants:
1. Hard work – Ants are constantly working, gathering food, and building nests.
2. Self-motivated – Ants work diligently without needing a leader or a boss. They have self-discipline and motivation.
3. Plan for future – They store food during the summer, ensuring they have enough for the winter, the look ahead, and save for possible future needs.
4. Teamwork – Teamwork makes the dream work, Ants are masters at that, they cooperate with each other, they know the value if working together, they look out for each other.
5. Not Lazy – They are not lazy like sluggards. They know the consequences of being lazy. This may be hard to accomplish in every situation in this society.
6. Not strong, but accomplishes much – they do this by working together, many hands can make the load light, if all hands are working.
Some churches, families, teams, workplaces, and social groups do implement these lessons and they prosper.
We certainly can apply some of these lessons to our personal lives.
Especially planning, hardwork, self motivation, it would make our lives much better.
So let’s continue to learn lessons from the Ants, as individuals and corporately.
The world will be better when we work together.
