2 Kings 2:18-19(ERV)
V. 18 Elisha said, “Take the arrows.”” Jehoash took the arrows. Then Elisha said to him.”Hit on the ground.” Jehoash hit the ground three times. Then he stopped.
V. 19 The man of God was angry with Jehoash. Elisha said, “You should have hit five or six times! Then you would have defeated Aram until you destroyed it! But now, you will defeat Aram only three times.”
Five or six times was just a metaphor to not stop. He was supposed to keep striking the ground until.
Someone once said, “If you get tired, don’t stop doing what you are doing, just take a break”.
The bible is a book of examples of not giving up and overcoming.
Some of us have done great things in our lives, and if we stop now, we will be considered a success by many.
Jehoash did have some success, but he could have had greater success. Our success is not just about us but it’s about us empowering others.
We can stop now and sit back and enjoy the rest of our lives, but to us, it’s about helping and encouraging others.
There is no such thing as a ceiling in God, or in us becoming the best that we can be, we should continue doing the best we can.
James Clear(Author of Atomic Habits) quote:
“The secret to getting results that last is to never stop making improvements.”
We can get comfortable, but when we see other people struggling it lifts us up to continue and never stop.
At times it may feel like we have exhausted all possibilities, and we can’t do anymore or any better, but we can.
Thomas Edison quote:
“When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember, you have not.”
So let’s keep hitting the ground.
Let’s keep going forward. Let’s keep improving, not just for ourselves but for others.
So don’t stop blogging, don’t stop writing, don’t stop singing, don’t stop entertaining, don’t stop doing movies, don’t stop youtubes or any other social media platform you are on, especially if you are encouraging and empowering others.
Those who do community work, it can get lonely and tiring, especially when funding is low or volunteering is light, it takes money and people to do the work, God send laborers and finances.
But don’t stop doing what you are doing, you are helping the least of those.
Let no one discourage you to stop, keep being you, keep doing the work, your labor is not in vain.
Don’t give up, don’t give in, and “Don’t Stop.”
