Our Words Have Power

Proverbs 15:4(CEV)

Kind words are good medicine, but deceitful words can really hurt.

Growing up, there was a saying:

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”

Well, we know that the saying is so untrue. Words can heal or build up; Words also can tear down or hurt.

Now, we may get to a point in our lives where words don’t have as much impact that they did in our lives, but still sometimes depending on who they come from can still hurt.

Words can hurt the most coming from a family member or friend. A husband or wife, anyone you may be a relationship or friendship with.

Hebrews 11:3a(NKJV)

By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.

Words can frame people minds, attitudes, and self-confidence.

Especially in kids, so let’s be careful what we tell our kids. We should never call our kids stupid, dumb, or any derogatory words.

Colossians 4:6a(ERV)

When you talk, you should always be kind and wise.

In this online social media era that we’re in, some people feel like that can say anything to one another, so many disgusting words and hate speech, so many divisive words. Let us do better and be better.

We should be able to make our points without trying to tear others down. We can speak our minds on topic without condescending rethoric and divisive speech.

Men should talk to women with kindness and likewise women to men. There is a lot that we can’t control, but we can control our words.

Mother Teresa: ,

“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”

I subscribe to some blogs and some blogs are short, but the words are always encouraging.

But it is not just how you speak to others but how you speak to yourself, speak kind words to yourself also.

Remember, some are going through something, some are just coming out of something, and we all will eventually be going through something, that’s life, so let’s be kind in our speech.

Be kind to the cashier, the waiter, the usher, the police, your coworkers etc. We should treat everyone with respect.

Our words have power and can be healing, let’s use them wisely.
