Hebrews 10: 35-36(NKJV)
V. 35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward.
V. 36 For you have have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Confidence(Bible Definition) – A firm trust and reliance on God, believing in God’s promises and character. Not just trusting in your own abilities but relying on God’s faithfulness.
Confidence(Webster) – A trusting, or reliance; an assurance of mind or firm belief in the integrity, stability or veracity of another, or the truth and reality of a fact.
Self-confidence – Confidence in oneself and ones abilities.
In a world where we spend so much money on self-help books, videos, seminars.
We spend so much money on building our self-esteem and confidence, so many people do not value their life.
True, there are narcissistic people who only care about themselves.
But I’ve been around the world and there are a lot of good people, just have self-confidence doesn’t make you a bad person.
Unfortunately, sometimes, when someone shows confidence in themselves, they can be labeled, overconfident, narcissistic, big headed, high minded and other things.
We are not used to people expressing their confidence in themselves.
Even when your confidence comes from knowing who you are in Christ and what God has done in your life before, it can be looked down upon.
So many people are in abusive situations, whether sexually abusive situations, physical abusive situations or mental abusive situations.
Having the confidence to walk away is vital. It’s okay to know who you are and not settle to be treated any less.
Know your worth and what you bring to the table. You are rewarded for that kind of confidence, not just by God but people will recognize it also.
Someone once said:
“Know your Worth and add tax”.
It’s vital that we hold onto our confidence.
1. Our confidence in God
2. Our confidence in ourselves
3. Our confidence in others
4. Our confidence in our churches
5, Our confidence in our communities, that things can get better
6. Our confidence in this world, that things can get better
So many have given up on life overall. Believe me, I understand, it’s a challenge sometimes.
But it takes just as much energy to be optimistic as it does to be pessimistic.
That doesn’t mean denying reality or what our eyes see, but I see many people striving and accomplishing great things every day.
So we should continue to do our part, pray for and help the people who are in bad situations, at the same time believing that things can get better.
So endure hardship, do not give up, refuse to give up, don’t give up on God or yourself.
Love yourself, believe in yourself, God with you and God is for you, do not let anyone place limits on you or what you can accomplish.
Let’s not lose our Confidence, it has great reward, not just in heaven, but this life also.
