Left Alone

Genesis 32:24(ERV)

Jacob was left alone, and a man came and wrestled with him. The man fought with him until the sun came up.

Matthew 14:13a(ERV)

When Jesus heard what happened to John, he left the boat. He went alone to a place no one lived.

I believe that created us to be in community or fellowship with others, whether its with church, temple, any social club, fitness center etc.

Genesis 2:18

And the Lord God said, it is not god that man should be alone

Even doing creation God said it is not good for us to be alone.

That does not mean with settle to be around a person or people who does not value us.

There are times where we are “Left Alone” by our on choice or by the choice of others, like by a your spouse or someone you were in a relationship with.

“Being “Left alone” is better than being with somebody who makes you feel alone”.

Have you ever gotten into a situation where you felt “Left Alone” by others?

Have you ever gotten into a situation where you chose to be “Left Alone”?

Most of us have felt that way many times. Sometimes, it’s just a feeling, but sometimes it’s our actual reality.

No matter how we got there, it can be a scary place, a lonely place, but sometimes a necessary place.

We can be in crowds of people and feel “Left Alone”, so it’s not always a place but a feeling at times.

We may be “Left Alone” for many different reasons.

Sometimes we are alone because we have no one at that particular time, we are just left to fein for ourselves because we have been forsaken by family and friends.

Genesis 32:24-25

Jacob was determined to get what he needed from God.

Jacob wrestled all night, Jacob was not gonna let go until he got what he needed.

Reason we may be “Left alone”.

1. Direction for our lives

2. Purpose for our lives

3. Peace of mind for our lives

4. After any loss in our lives

5. Others or someone just decides to leave

When alone by choice or for other reasons:

1. Block out other people voices and opinions

2. Turn off television and radio

3. Get away from social media

4. Pray and meditate for understanding

5. Read the bible

So there was Jacob, wrestling so hard that God had to touch Jacob’s hip bone to hinder him but Jacob still would not be overcome, that’s how determined we need to be at times, I am not letting go of God.

This moment was life changing for Jacob and life changing for everyone that came after him, Jacob name was changed to Israel at this time, and Jacob never was the same after this alone time.

Our alone times at the time can seem overwhelming, but if we hang in there, we can not only impact our lives and the people close to us, but many lives can be impacted.

Matthew 14:13a

So Jesus had heard thar his first cousin John The Baptist had been killed and be headed, Jesus needed time to mourn his death so Jesus left to be alone,

There is no given time that people should mourn, sometimes we need to give people space to grieve.

Sometimes we should give ourselves some time to grieve, we at times don’t realize how much a death or tragic situation has impacted us, Jesus was our example in that, give ourselves and others space to grieve, if needed, most of the time it is needed.

The Apostle Paul was in a tough spot, his life was in danger because of his message, everyone associated with him life was in danger because of his message, so no one really wanted to be around him because they were in fear of their lives.

2 Timothy 4:16

The first time I defended myself, no one helped me. Everyone left me. I pray that God will forgive them.

It’s a horrible thing to give your life for any cause, sacrifice, put it all on the line then at the time you need them the most people forsake you.

Give your life for a relationship and the person forsakes you.

Give your life for a job and get laid off.

Give your life for any group, and in your time of deepest need, you are “Left Alone”, “horrible feeling many have experienced.”

The Apostle Paul made a powerful statement, I do not hold thar against them.

If we can ever get to that point, to totally release individuals or groups of people who have forsaken us, it will free us.

The Apostle Paul found comfort in the fact that God never forsook him. The bible says that God will never leave or forsake us.

Hebrews 13:5a

God will never leave you or forsake you.

So whether we are on our own because we need to be for direction, whether we are on our own because we are in mourning, or we may be on our own because we have been left alone by others, in actuality we are never on our own.

“Left Alone”, most of us can say we have been there, someone may be there now.

But please be encouraged, you’re never really “left Alone”, God is always with you.
