Matthew 6:6(NKJV)
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your father who is in the secret place; and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Secret Place – Place where individuals can seek intimate communion with God, a place of solitude, away from everything and everyone for a moment or whatever time you may need.
In this fast-paced world of media and social media, voices are everywhere, sometimes good and some bad.
But we need to escape from even good voices sometimes to hear from God for ourselves.
All the old testamen Priest, Prophets, and Prophetess had that in common, they had alone time with God.
God always protects and covers us from things seen and unseen.
Put sometimes, we need to be intentional about solitude times, times alone with God.
That Secret Place:
1. Is a place of safety where we can get assurance that God is with us.
2. Is a place of refuge, a hiding place from the storms of life, and storms will always come but knowing that God will never leave or forsake us gives us hope
3. Is a place of direction when we don’t know what to do or say in certain situations of life.
4. Is a place where we can strength our connection with God.
5. Is a place that is actually hidden from others, where we can go in our alone times. Jesus says, Shut the door.
Things we need to be intentional about in those alone times:
1. Shutting off T.V.
2. Shutting off Social media
3. Shutting off cellphone or silence it
4. Shutting off communication with others for a moment
5. Shutting off eating and drinking for whatever time is good for you
Secret place is a place of refreshing, restoring, and renewing Hope.
So if you don’t have that place, please find that place.
For some, it may be taking a drive, from some taking a walk, for some taking a swim, for some it may be going to the gym. We all need that time alone with just us and God.
Mark 1:35b(NKJV)
He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there he prayed.
Jesus when on earth had that solitary place, if Jesus needed it so do we.
Please find “That Secret Place.” When you find it, you will not regret it.
