Matthew 25:21(NLT)
The master was full of praise. “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together.”
2 Timothy 4:7(NLT)
I have fought the good fight, i have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
Matthew 25:21(NLT) Summary
There will be nothing more rewarding in life for God to look at the totality of your life and say “Well Done”.
Not because you did everything right, not because you said everything right, not because you treated everyone right but because you had a heart after God.
Even when you made mistakes, you never gave up because you knew God would never give up on you.
The bible says David was a man after God’s own heart, 1 Samuel 13:14, and repeated in Acts 13:22.
So let that be our desire, not to please, man, but to please God.
We took what God gave us, and we multiplied it. We didn’t waste our gifts, talents, and abilities.
We did our best, we treated people right, we were charitable, loving, caring, and merciful people.
Even when we failed short in those areas, we had enough self awareness to realize it. We had Godly conviction and Guidance.
I want to hear God say, you lived your best life, you tried to live right, you cared for the poor, the oppressed, the forsaken, you gave of your time and your finances.
When you messed up you owned it, you didn’t play the victim and blame others, when things get rough and didn’t go your way, you just prayed and tried harder.
When folks treated you bad, even if you didn’t want to forgive them you had a heart to and eventually did.
2 Timothy 4:7(NLT) Summary
I also like how the Apostle Paul looked back in his life and said something similar but in a different way, speaking in the first person.
Paul says, “I Have,” three times.
Will we be confident in our faith enough to look back and say like Paul, I have fought a good fight, i have finished the race, I have kept the Faith.
We know that our salvation in God by Jesus Christ is that we are not saved by works or actions. But we should not waste our time here on earth, we should strive to always be and do our best to live a life of conviction.
None of us are perfect, but all of us can do our best, become our best The world is waiting for our best. Let’s give it to them.
Let our words to ourselves be “Well Done”, we trusted in God the whole way.
So let’s live a life where God would be pleased and we would be pleased.
Other people opinions matter some, we should respect others’ opinions, but to hear God say “Well Done” and to say to ourselves “Well Done”, should be our desire.
