Luke 9:16(MEV)
Then He took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, He BLESSED them, and BROKE them, and GAVE them to his disciples to set before the crowd.
Loaves represent nourishment, both physically and spiritually.
Fish is nourishment but also is symbolic for Jesus Christ and Christianity’
Bread is a metaphor for a Christian life surrendered to God for service to the world.
Jesus was the bread of life and because we have been given life, we must give life.
What an illustration, example, or metaphor of a life surrendered to God for his purpose, Blessed, Broken, Given.
If we’re not blessed before we’re broken the brokenness could kill us, if we’re not broken before we’re given to our assignments or purpose, we may become arrogant or judgmental, but the hurt, pain, resentment, trouble and brokenness we go through keeps us humble.
If we’re not given, we may become selfish and our lives become all about us.
Luke 9:17(NKJV)
So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the eftover fragments were taken up by them.
The disciples were blessed because of their surrender to be used by God.
There were 12 baskets left, the leftovers, each disciple got one, God wants to bless you.
God will allow us to be broken, God will use us, but God ultimately wants to continue to bless us.
God wants all our needs to be met with some leftovers, God is into overflow for us.
Sometimes, it may feel like so much of us is given, and you may feel left out, but hang in there.
Galatians 6:9(NKJV)
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Do not get weary in doing good, due season is coming. BLESSED, BROKEN, GIVEN for your purpose, assignment, and prosperity.
