A voice from heaven said, “This is my son, the one I love. I am very pleased with him”.
Matthew 17:5b(ERV)
A voice came from the cloud and said, “This is my son, the one I love, I am very pleased with him. Obey him!”
Affirmation – Emotional support and encouragement.
There is nothing like believing our earthly parents are pleased with us. God spoke of being pleased with his son Jesus.
Matthew 3:17, God was pleased with his son before he had accomplished anything, before any miracles.
So God being pleased with us is not about performance.
If you believe in God, he loves you, if you don’t believe in God, he loves you.
We can’t do anything to cause God to love us anymore more and we can’t do anything to cause God to love us any less.
God is not willing that no person should perish, God loves us so much He gave us a free will.
So be encouraged, if your mother and father forsakes you, God will be there.
If friendships and relationships haven’t worked out for you, God loves you.
No greater intrinsic motivation than to know that the creator of the universe loves you.
There is a scene in the movie “The Count of Monte Cristo”,
The Prison scene, where one guy said I don’t believe in God, the other guy said, but God believes in you.
Speaks of God believing in all mankind’s potential and purpose but its up to us to fulfil our purpose, mainly by looking to him.
So turn to God, look to him foremost for affirmation and encouragement.
The bible said that David encouraged himself in the Lord when everyone turned on him.
God is your biggest cheer leader. Be encouraged this week.
