Zechariah 8:23
“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, ‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’”
The words from Zechariah 8:23 paint a powerful picture of the influence and impact that the presence of God has and can have in our lives. When God is with us, it transforms not only our own circumstances but also attracts others who seek the divine light and guidance that radiates from us. Let our light shine!
1. The Power of God’s Presence When God is with you, His presence is unmistakable. It manifests in the peace that surpasses all understanding, the joy that is unspeakable, and the love that is unconditional. Just as the passage describes, people are drawn to the light of God that shines through us. They recognize the difference, the hope, and the divine favor that comes from walking with the Almighty. I don’t look like what I’ve done through, he kept me!
2. A Witness to the Nations In the scripture, we see people from all languages and nations taking hold of one Jew, symbolizing a universal recognition of God’s power and presence. This serves as a reminder that our faith and the presence of God within us can be a witness to others, transcending cultural and linguistic barriers. Our lives can be a testament to God’s goodness and mercy, prompting others to seek the same relationship with Him. He’s able!
3. Living as a Conduit of God’s Blessings After all I’ve been through! To live in a way that others see God with us, we must be conduits of His blessings. This means embodying the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As we live out these virtues, we become beacons of hope and encouragement, drawing others towards the source of all good things. Never would have made it!
4. A Call to Evangelism The passage also serves as a call to evangelism. When others see the difference God makes in our lives, it opens opportunities for us to share our faith and the gospel message. We are called to be ready to give an answer for the hope that we have (1 Peter 3:15), guiding those who seek the truth to the feet of Jesus. Most people see obstacles we see opportunities!
5. God’s Promise of Restoration Zechariah’s prophecy speaks to a time of restoration and blessing for God’s people. It assures us that God’s plan includes not just individual blessing but also a wider impact that brings people together under His banner. We are gatherers not scattered.
This promise encourages us to remain faithful and trust in God’s ultimate plan for our lives and the world around us. He promised to never leave us!
When God is with you, it is evident to all. His presence brings transformation, peace, and a witness that attracts others to Him. As we live our lives with God at the center, let us remember that we are called to be His ambassadors, sharing His love and truth with everyone we encounter. May our lives reflect His glory and lead others to say, “Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you. When God is with us, we triumph!
If God be with us, we can walk through floods! Be encouraged
Peace
