“Desire”, how this word has become a dirty word, like we shouldn’t desire, want for or long for things are positions.
Sometimes religion and even Christianity says we just serve God and get ready for heaven, that we shouldn’t ask God for anything we want while on earth, God did promise to supply all of our needs, but according to the bible God’s wants to give us the desires of our hearts also.
When will God not give us our desires:
- When our desires comes at the expense of hurting others.
- When our desires are only selfish and we don’t want to use our blessing to help the unfortunate.
- When we want blessings to control others or manipulate them.
- When we just want to be seen or impress others with material things.
- When our desires are lustful or sinful desire.
Webster simply defines desire as a want or something you long for, and the bible definition is basically the same.
Psalm 21:2(KJV)
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not witholden the request of his lips. Selah.
Wow, some translations David says he got everything that he asked for, I love the Selah at the end, it means amen or think about that, everything David’s lips requested from God he got.
Psalm 37:4(KJV),
Delight thyself also in the LORD and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Proverbs 10::22
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he added no sorry with it
Proverbs 13:12(KJV)
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick, but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Simply put when you keep getting disappointed it’s heart breaking, but when you get what you desire for it brings you life.
Mark 10 51a(KJV) And Jesus answered him, what wilt thou that I should do unto thee? Wow, what a question, what do you desire, what do you want or need.
Mark 11:24(KJV),
There I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when he pray, believe that he receive them, and ye shall have them.

Praying for our desires should cause us to work harder and make wiser decision, we do ur part and pray that God does his part.
Blessing blockers:
1. We can talk ourselves out of God’s blessings
2. We can allow others to talk us out of God’s blessings
3. We don’t believe we deserve God’s blessings
4. We may believe we don’t qualify for God’s best
Luke 12:32
Jesus says it’s the father’s desire or pleasure to give us the kingdom.
God can opens doors that no one can, he gives Desires that no other person can fulfill, we can go boldly before his throne of grace to find mercy and help when we need it.
God wants us to pray for and desire his best for us. That’s not the prosperity Gospel, that’s God’s desire.
God I pray for anyone that may read this post and even those that will not, God I know some people are going through and dealing with some bad situations, with health, financial, domestic violence, marital issues, some are being trafficked, I pray that they will turn to you, Lord help the oppressed, impoverish and disenfranchised, people who have lost their jobs give them hope.
