Proverbs 4:23(ERV)
Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life.
Another translation says guard your heart with all diligence.
Thoughts are powerful, thoughts can create or deflate, our thoughts frame our words, our words can encourage ourselves and others, or our words can discourage ourselves and others.
In Don Miguel Ruiz book “The Four Agreements,” the first agreement is “Be impeccable With Your Words” how we talk to ourselves and about ourselves and how we talk to and about others
How we talk comes from how we think, so think about it.
1. What do you think about yourself
2. What do you say about yourself
3. How do you feel about yourself
4. What do you think about others
5. What do you say about others
6. How do you feel about others
David says in Psalms 139:14
I praise you, for i am fearfully and wonderfully made.
David said that about himself. Do you talk about yourself that way.
French Philosopher Rene Descartes says, “I think, there I AM”.
That’s not arrogance. That’s confidence in who you are and how God made you. If you don’t believe in yourself or have confidence in yourself why should you expect anyone else.
If you think you can or if you think you can’t you’re probably right, Henry Ford quote.
But you can, and you will, be encouraged, we all have negative or pessimistic thoughts and talk at times. life can be hard and unfair, the key is to catch those thoughts and rethink.
It takes just as much energy to be optimistic or pessimistic, you’re gonna think anyways, you might as well be positive.
Think about it
