They say the NFL is a copy cat league, what works for other teams is copied by the whole league, but it doesn’t work for some teams and they eventually go back to what works for them.
In regular life, we see someone successful, and we try to copy that model, which for some may work. We spend a lot of money to copy business principles and models, and that is great because we don’t not have to always reinvent the wheel.
But many successful people are unique and original. There may be people similar to them, but in their uniqueness lies their power.
The biblical account of David and Saul:
1 Samuel 17:38-39(MSG)
V.38 Then Saul outfitted David as a soldier in armor. He put his bronze helmet on his head and belted his sword on him over his armor. David tried to walked but he could hardly budge. David told Saul, “I can’t even move with all this stuff on me. I’m not used to this”. And he took it all off.
David was summoned to fight Goliath, Saul in his concern for David fitted him with his armor, but it didn’t fit David, David was not used to it.
There are some uniqueness and differences with all of us. We may not be like everyone else,we we may not do things like everyone else.
In this trending world of news, fashion, skills, professions, lifestyles, etc, sometimes we can be pushed to be or do things that’s not us. It’s okay to have people we look up to and model certain ways they do things but we should never lose our uniqueness.
Could we be successful totally copying someone else? Yes, put uniqueness is not only powerful but to me more rewarding.
Some of the things we are not used to we should take it off and be ourselves. There lies our power.
If what copying others is working for you, that’s great, but if what and who you are is working for you, don’t change.
Just always do your best and strive to become the best version of yourself.
Remember, you are awesome and amazing.
Psalm 139:14
You are fearfully and wonderfully made.
